(FORT WAYNE) – Fort Wayne Community Schools teachers have a new, two-year contract. The school system approved the deal Tuesday after teachers ratified it last week. Eligible teachers will get a one-percent salary increase and those currently paid below average for teachers with equal education and experience will be brought up to the average pay. Starting pay for Fort Wayne teachers remains at $37,000 for those with a Bachelor’s Degree and $41,000 for those with a Master’s Degree.
