Prosecutors pushing for higher drug sentences and prescription-only pseudoephedrine

By Brandon Smith | Published on in Uncategorized

Indiana prosecutors say they need help combatting the state’s drug crisis. And as Indiana Public Broadcasting’s Brandon Smith reports, they’re asking the legislature to increase penalties for drug dealers.

The prosecutors say they also want to make pseudoephedrine a prescription-only drug in Indiana. The association says it won’t end the state’s meth consumption, but would help combat meth production. They point to the state of Oregon, which saw a 96 percent reduction in meth labs after requiring a prescription for pseudoephedrine.
