State Board of Education to form ISTEP advisory committee
After length issues, technical issues, and scoring issues with the state’s ISTEP+ exam, Indiana’s State Board of Education has voted to establish an independent committee to advise on the technical aspects of statewide tests.
The board says when the group is formed, it will have four to six members chosen for their specific technical expertise. They would provide counsel to the State Board and Department of Education on things such as test design, growth models and assessment of special populations.
State leaders also say schools can expect to receive final ISTEP+ data later this month.
