State police looking for owner of stolen bicycle used in prison escape

By Stephanie Wiechmann | Published on in Uncategorized

The Indiana State Police is looking to return a bicycle stolen by a prisoner that escaped from the Pendleton Correctional Facility.

Twenty-eight-year-old Charles Adams escaped from a minimum-security dorm in Pendleton on Sunday night and was caught by police near his hometown in Steuben County on Monday evening. Police say Adams stole an SUV from a rural Hancock County home to complete his escape. But before stealing a car, state police detective Bob May says Adams stole a bicycle from somewhere in Pendleton or Ingalls. That bike was left behind at the Hancock County house.

May is not giving out a description of the bicycle. But, he asks anyone in the Madison County area who suspects the bike could be theirs to call 765-778-2121.
