IU President McRobbie Announces Plan To Retire June 2021

Indiana University President Michael McRobbie announced Friday that he will retire next summer after 14 years as the head of the public state university. In an email to the IU community, McRobbie wrote that he had notified the Board of Trustees Friday morning of his plan to retire and acknowledgeChair Paul Okeson said there are also ongoing court cases trying to force Indiana to expand vote-by-mail.

At a remote, video meeting of the Indiana Election Commission Friday, Republicans again rejected an attempt to expand vote-by-mail for this year’s general election. Democrats are trying to allow more Hoosiers to cast their ballots that way during the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic.
