BSU MBB Wins at Bowling Green; BSU WBB Hosts Akron, Tonight (Wed.)
Ball State’s men’s basketball Cardinals got a big road win last night (Tues.) at Bowling Green in a battle of the birds. The Cards beat the Falcons, 72 to 64. BGSU lead by 13 points with 13 minutes to go, but a Bo Calhoun 3-pointer helped to spark a surge to give the Cards a two-point lead with three minutes left. Francis Kiapway and Franko House scored 16 points each for Ball State. The Cards hit 8 of 12 free throws in the stretch to seal the win. The victory boosts the Cardinals’ overall record to 14-and-8, and 5-and-4 in the MAC West. This Saturday, Western Michigan comes to Worthen Arena to face Ball State. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
Meanwhile, tonight at Worthen Arena, the Ball State women’s basketball Cardinals host Akron, at 7. Brady Sallee’s Cards are 14-and-5 on the season, 6-and-2 in the MAC West, good for second place.
