Carrier to Move Indiana Jobs to Mexico
(INDIANAPOLIS) – Hundreds of workers in Indianapolis could be facing big changes. Carrier is announcing plans to move its manufacturing center from the capital city to Mexico, where it already has some other factories. The shift is said to take about three years. Carrier says it will have no impact on jobs right now. An estimated 1,400 jobs in Indianapolis could be impacted as well as 700 jobs in Huntington, where Carrier’s parent company United Technologies has a facility. The union, however, still has some say in the matter.
