BSU WBB Upset by Eastern Michigan in MAC Tournament
Third-seeded Ball State lost to 6th-seeded Eastern Michigan, Wednesday night in the MAC women’s basketball tournament in Cleveland, 67 to 53. The Cards had beaten Eastern Michigan, soundly, 67 to 36 and 76 to 54, during the regular season. Ball State hit only 30.6 percent from the floor; Eastern wasn’t much better at 32.8 percent. But the Cards were outscored 18 to 9 at the foul line.
Senior Nathalie Fontaine got her 36th career double-double with 14 points and 10 boards.
Next up, Ball State at 21-and-9 on the season, awaits a possible post-season bid, most likely in the Women’s National Invitation Tournament.
