BSU’s Fontaine Named MAC Player of the Year, Starts Tournament Play Tonight (Wed.)
The honor is well-deserved.
Ball State women’s basketball senior forward Nathalie Fontaine is the Mid-American Conference Player of the Year. She lead the Cards to a 21-8 overall record, and a 13-5 MAC tally.
Fontaine averaged 21 points and 10.2 rebounds per game while shooting 51.2 percent from the floor. This is the fifth time a Cardinal has won the honor. Kate Endress was the last Ball Stater to earn the crown in the ’04-’05 season.
Fontaine is a native of Stockholm, Sweden. She and her fellow Cardinals earned a bye in the MAC Tournament in Cleveland. The Cards are the #3 seed and will play 6th-seeded Eastern Michigan, tonight at 7:30. You can see the game, on ESPN-3.
