Eric Holcomb confirmed and sworn-in as new lieutenant governor

Indiana government officials swore-in the state’s new lieutenant governor this afternoon, after Eric Holcomb was confirmed by both the House and Senate earlier today. As Indiana Public Broadcasting’s Brandon Smith reports, the former state Republican Party chairman becomes the state’s second-in-command less than 24 hours after former Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellspermann officially stepped down.

Former Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellspermann is vying to be the next president of Ivy Tech Community College. The school says all applications for that position are due by March 15 and the board expects to make a decision sometime in April.
