Goshen English Learning program in trouble after state school funding change
It’s been a year since Indiana legislators changed the way schools are funded – giving all schools, regardless of demographics, the same amount of state money. Some critics say the funding is unfair because of districts with low income students. Or – like in Goshen, Indiana – districts that see many more students learning to speak English. StateImpact Indiana’s Claire McInerny visited Goshen to see how the district is scrambling to save its English Learning program in light of funding cuts.
