Pence Met with United Technologies Execs, Tried to Keep Jobs in Indiana
(INDIANAPOLIS) – Governor Pence met with executives from United Technologies to figure out if there was anything his administration could do to prevent the company from taking 2,100 Indiana jobs to Mexico. Overall, the company was unable to provide any reassurance, although it did say 400 executive jobs would remain in the state. Pence told reporters the company promised it would repay state and local grants and tax incentives. The governor also said the decision to move had nothing to do with Indiana’s business environment, but rather issues with policies in Washington, D.C.
