Pseudoephedrine Bill Headed to the Governor

By Network Indiana | Published on in Uncategorized

(STATEHOUSE) – A bill designed to stop some felons from buying certain cold medicines is moving toward the governor’s desk to be signed into law. House Enrolled Act 1157 aims to prevent those with methamphetamine-related felony convictions  from buying pseudoephedrine without a prescription. Pseudoephedrine is a key ingredient in the manufacture of meth. The bill also makes it a level 6 felony to possess the drug without a prescription. The bill is seen as a compromise between requiring everyone to have a prescription and no one to have it.
