Rossi Hauls Home More Than $2.5 Million As Indy 500 Champ

Rookie Alexander Rossi earned more than $2.5 million Sunday for his win at the Indianapolis 500. The American drove the joint Bryan Herta Autosport/Andretti Autosport #98 car to a historic victory at the race’s 100th running. Last year’s winner, Juan Pablo Montoya, earned $2.45 million. Rossi was the first rookie winner since Helio Castroneves in 2001 and the first American-born rookie champion since Louis Meyer in 1928.
