Former Apollo Astronaut Eugene Cernan passes away
The last man to walk on the moon, has passed away. Eugene Cernan was a 1956 Purdue electrical engineering graduate, and was a recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross as a Captain in the US Navy. The Chicago-born Cernan was the commander of Apollo 17 in 1972, the last manned mission to the moon by the United States. Cernan was 82.
