Brown County Trying to Keep Up With The Times

Scenic Brown County in southern Indiana is known by IPR listeners for its rolling hills, artisan communities, and small-town charm. However, Brown County has a problem with which it is struggling. The Brown County school system recently announced it must cut its budget by nearly a million dollars because of declining enrollment. The district is down more than 100 students just this year. But the source of the problem is complicated.  As Indiana Public Broadcasting’s Lindsey Wright reports, the county is battling several challenges.
