Ball State MBB Loses to Kent State in MAC Tournament 76-73
Ball State’s men’s basketball Cardinals lost their fourth game in a row yesterday, this time to Kent State, 76-73, in the MAC Tournament quarterfinals, in Cleveland. The 4th-seeded Cardinals trailed for most of the game, then led 69-67 with 2:28 left, but fell short.
Tayler Persons led Ball State scoring with 19. Freshman Zach Gunn contributed 15 points.
The Cards are out of the running for an NCAA Tournament bid, and most likely will not receive a National Invitation Tournament berth.
There is still a chance of the Cards vying for a slot in the College Insider Tournament or the College Basketball Invitational tournament. Ball State’s season record, so far, is 19-and-13.
