After Tuesday’s primary, voters in the 6th District in November will see a contest between Republican Greg Pence of Columbus and Democrat Jeannine Lee Lake of Muncie.

Pence is hoping to hold the same seat his brother, Vice President Mike Pence, held for a dozen years.  In his victory speech Tuesday night, he emphasized the need for a positive campaign.

“We need to push back against the Democrats and their liberal attacks, which have often been aided by the media.  As a Marine, I understand that respect is earned and never given.”

Lake also spoke of getting out positive messages to voters and says she looks forward to meeting her opponent in debates.

“People are tired of divisive and hate politics,” Lake says. “We’re coming for every voter who feels disenfranchised by this particular administration. We’re coming for the least, the lost and the last.”

Both beat out several candidates for the seat with no incumbent – as current Congressman Luke Messer ran, unsuccessfully, for the GOP US Senate nomination.
