Ball State kicks off its 2018 football season, tonight at 7 at Scheumann Stadium against Central Connecticut State University (CCSU). The Cardinals are coming off a 2-and-10, 2017 campaign, that was filled with numerous injuries on both sides of the ball.  In fact, the Cards were the only team among 129 Football Bowl Subdivision schools to start a fifth-string, walk-on quarterback, last year. Some say no team at college football’s highest level has ever had to do that.

Ball State Head Coach Mike Neu says the Cards just have to take the field, stay in the present, and not take their opponent for granted.

The Football Championship Subdivision CCSU Blue Devils went 8-and-4 last season, and are the reigning Northeast Conference champions. CCSU is picked to repeat as champs, this year.

Muncie motorists should watch for road closings and slow traffic starting late this afternoon along North Tillotson, Bethel, and McGallilard Avenues.
