Injuries Reported In Plane Crashes In Anderson and Marion, Sunday

By Network Indiana | Published on in Local News, Transportation

Two planes crashes happened within hours of each other in Madison and Grant counties, Sunday.

The first crash happened Sunday morning at Anderson Municipal Airport in Madison County when a small plane four-passenger Cessna crashed. Anderson Police Major Joel Sandefur said the pilot was the only person on board the aircraft.

Sandefur said the pilot was airlifted to Eskanazi Hospital with what he could speculate were serious internal injuries.

Further north in Marion, another plane crash happened in the afternoon at the Marion Municipal Airport in Grant County. Four people were hurt this crash. But, according to airport manager Andy Darlington, those four people suffered only minor injuries and did not require EMT’s.

Investigators in both counties have turned their investigations over to the NTSB and the FAA.
