Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb has appointed two new Ball State University trustees.  As IPR’s Stephanie Wiechmann reports, one is a Fort Wayne executive and one is a new student representative.

Henry Hall from Fort Wayne is president of Skytech Products Group.  The company makes remote gas inserts for fireplaces and outdoor fireplaces.  According to a trade newsletter, Hall was brought to Skytech in 2007 to learn the business and take over for its founder when he retired.

Hall is a 1993 graduate of Ball State, earning a bachelor’s in finance and accounting.  He also played football for the school.  He’s a Fort Wayne native.

Hall replaces former Ball State trustee Wayne Estopinal, who died in a plane crash in November of 2018.  In Hall’s first term, he will serve through December of 2022.

Holcomb also appointed Ball State student Rebeca Mena to serve as the board’s student representative.  Mena is a junior majoring in chemistry and Spanish.  Ball State officials say she’s an American who was raised in Venezuela and say she will bring a “global perspective” to the board.  She replaces current student representative Marlene Jacocks.  Mena will serve through June of 2021.
