As climate action chants were heard across Indiana and the world, the one in Muncie came from outside the Delaware County Building.  IPR’s Kwaku Dakwa reports.

“Who’s Earth?  Our Earth? Who’s Earth?  Our Earth!”

About 20 Muncie area residents gathered at the Delaware County Building to speak their minds on Climate Change and how harmful it is. The event attracted people of all ages, including Judy Harley.  She says the signs of Climate change are hard to ignore.

“When I was growing up, you kinda heard about it and you just took it for granted. Well that time is long gone now.”

Sarah Vitale is with Muncie Resists, the group that organized the Muncie action.

“The people in Muncie care about their community, they care about one another’s children and that is something I can count on every day.”

Vitale says those who care about the environment need to continue pressuring elected officials to act.

“Because the time is running out.”
