Anderson’s incumbent mayor has won his re-election bid.  As IPR’s Kwaku Dakwa reports, Democrat Thomas Broderick, Jr. has many plans for his second term.

“We’re going to try to grow our population.  We’re going to bring in some additional housing and we’re going to continue to make our place a great place to live and work.”

Broderick grew up in Anderson and had some nice words to say about the community.

“ I find that our community is made up of individuals that are good, giving people, and, you know, if I walked down the street and say hello to someone, even if I didn’t happen to be the mayor, most likely someone’s going to say hello back.”

Broderick is thankful for the support he has received during the election process.

“We had support across the political aisle. I do appreciate all of our supporters, but I do particularly appreciate the community at large.”
