Alexandria Tops List Of Most Affordable Places To Own A Home In Indiana

New numbers in an annual study on the most affordable places to buy and own a home in Indiana has highlighted several IPR-area cities and towns.  Alexandria tops the Indiana list by SmartAsset, and ranks 9th nationally on the company’s survey.

The study, in its sixth year, takes into account the annual average mortgage payment and median income of a place, as well as average closing costs, property taxes, and homeowners insurance.  The company says it gives a picture of buying and owning a home for a five-year period.

As the top Hoosier locale, Alexandria scores nearly a 75 out of 100 on the company’s affordability index.
