With the economy shut down due to the COVID-19 outbreak, many local businesses are struggling. In Grant County, a single Facebook page is helping to spread the word about businesses that are still open in the area … all in one spot.  IPR’s Kwaku Dakwa reports.

Mikayla Marazzi is one of the creators of the Grant County Local Business Support During COVID-19 page.  She says creators wanted a one-stop shop so the community could easily support everyone.

“I’m hoping that this whole experience makes Grant County residents pay really close attention to our local business community. Maybe some of them will have their attention drawn to businesses they didn’t know existed.”

Marazzi says she is not sure what the future of the group will be after things begin to go back to normal.

“We look forward to seeing how this continues to increase communication between the business community and the public.”

She says the page will remain “largely unfiltered,” but posts that don’t have to do with Grant County or “inflammatory” posts will be removed.
