Indiana Records 13,048 New COVID-19 Cases From Wednesday, Oct. 28 to Saturday, Oct. 31

Saturday’s 2,787 new Indiana COVID-19 cases were reported Sunday at noon by the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH). Saturday was the first day since Wednesday, Oct. 28 that the new, daily, positive, case count fell below 3,000. However, 13,048 new, positive cases were tallied from Wednesday to Saturday. Since the start of the pandemic, the Hoosier state has seen a total of 182,108 positive cases. 28 new deaths were reported Sunday, bringing the state’s pandemic death toll to 4,128. Indiana’s positivity rate is 8.1 percent, as of Oct. 25, the latest date for which positivity figures are available. New COVID-19 cases have skyrocketed since the state went to Stage 5 of its reopening plan, however a statewide mask mandate remains in effect for all people in public places, such as businesses.
Delaware County’s latest numbers, as released by ISDH, show 18 new cases and two new deaths for Saturday, Oct. 31, as reported Sunday. The county has seen a total of 3,393 positive cases since the start of the pandemic, with a death toll of 83. Delaware County is still in the “orange” category with a score of 2 on a COVID-19 severity scale of 3, with 3 being the most hazardous.
