The Indianapolis Star won the 2021 Pulitzer Prize in national reporting for an investigation into police dog bites. The report looked into the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department’s use of K9s. It found IMPD had more dog bites than other big city police departments. The report was in collaboration with The Marshall Project, Alabama Dot Com in Birmingham, and Invisible Institute in Chicago. This is the third Pulitzer Prize for The Indianapolis Star.

Meanwhile, Ball State SportsLink students in the school’s Department of Telecommunications brought home three Student Production Awards in regional Emmy competition, over the weekend. The students won for Non-Fiction-Long Form Story, Sports Story or Segment, and Live Sporting Event or Game.
