IDOH reports only 52 percent of Hoosiers 5+ are fully vaccinated against COVID

Delaware Co. continues with a 1.5 COVID Spread Rating. Immediately to its north, Grant Co. jumped to a Red Level 3 rating --the worst in the state (along with LaGrange Co.). Southeast of Muncie, Fayette Co. has a blue-level 0.5 rating -- the best in the state.

The Indiana Department of Health announced Friday there were 2,358 new positive COVID cases.  The 7-day positivity rate was 7.6 percent.  37 more persons have died from the coronavirus, statewide. 52 percent of the state’s 5-years-and-older population is fully vaccinated.

Here in Delaware County, 30 new cases were reported, with a 7-day positivity rate of 6.8 percent.  No COVID deaths were reported.  46.8 percent of the county’s 5-years-and-older population is now fully vaccinated. Delaware County remains at a Yellow Level 1.5, COVID Spread Rating.

Grant County has now jumped to a Red Level 3 – the worst COVID Spread Rating.  Only 40 percent of Grant County’s 5-years-plus population has been fully vaccinated.
