Kentucky awards contract to start construction on Ohio River Crossing project
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is ready to begin construction on the Ohio River Crossing project. The project includes a bridge that’ll connect Indiana and Kentucky’s sections of I-69.
The state awarded a $158 billion contract to Stantec Consulting Services and Ragle, Incorporated.
The design and build team will be in charge of converting U.S. Route 41 in northern Kentucky into interstate highway. Construction is expected to start early next year and last until 2025.
Then, Indiana and Kentucky will work together on the second phase of the project, which will include the actual bridge construction.
That’s expected to begin in 2027.
