After a handful of rain and lightning delays over a span of 26 hours, Ball State beat Ohio in Game Two of the Mid-American Conference Baseball Tournament, 6-to-4.

The Cards trailed the Bobcats 4-to-3 in the eighth inning. Then Ball State’s Zach Cole doubled to left-center field. Adam Tellier grounded out, but Cole advanced to third with two outs. Cole then scored on a wild pitch to tie the game at 4.

Ball State’s defense held Ohio scoreless in the ninth. The offense closed the deal. The Cardinals’ Amir Wright walked to first base. With two outs, Wright advanced to second on a passed ball. Catcher Hunter Dobbins picked a great time to hit a home run, giving Ball State a 6-to-4 lead and the final score.

The top-seeded Cards next face second-seeded Central Michigan, Friday, at 12:30 at BSU’s Ball Diamond. In the the day’s other game, fourth-seeded Ohio plays the number three seed Toledo bright and early at 9:00 a.m.
