Both Ball State basketball teams chalk up wins, Saturday
Both Ball State basketball teams kept up their winning ways on Saturday.
Michael Lewis’ men’s basketball Cardinals disemboweled Bowling Green 93 to 72 at Worthen Arena. Payton Sparks led Ball State scoring with 18 points. The Cards finished the game with five in double figures while winning their fifth game in a row. Ball State looks like it will achieve a 20-win season and then some. The Cards are 18-and-7 overall, and 9-and-3 in the Mid-American Conference with six games left in the regular season. Ball State welcomes Northern Illinois to Worthen Arena Tuesday for a 7 p.m. tipoff on ESPN+.
The Ball State women’s basketball Cardinals picked up their 21st win against four losses as they beat Akron on the road Saturday, 61 to 56. The win was their ninth in a row. Anna Clephane tied her career high scoring mark with 26 points in the win. Ball State is tied for first in the MAC with Bowling Green. Both teams have 11-and-1 conference records. Next up, a Wednesday night home game with Ohio. Tipoff is at 6:30.
