The University of Indianapolis announced Tuesday its Board of Trustees had unanimously selected the school’s next leader. Dr. Tanuja Singh will be the 10th president of UIndy.

Singh currently serves as the Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs at Loyola University New Orleans. She earned her doctorate in Business Administration from Southern Illinois University, an MBA from Millsaps College, and a M.Sc. in Physics from University of Allahabad in India.

She will be succeeding Robert Manuel, who has been with the school for the past 10 years.

Singh says she plans to prioritize community involvement and workforce partnerships. She will assume the role on July 1.

The university is located on the south side of Indianapolis and has over 5,600 students. It offers over 100 undergraduate degree programs, over 40 master’s degree programs and five doctoral programs.
