Governor Eric Holcomb has appointed a new judge to head Delaware Circuit Court 3.

Douglas Mawhorr has worked as a deputy prosecutor for the county prosecuting attorney’s office since 2014.  He also has experience in private practice and as a public defender.  He has degrees from Wabash College and the Indiana University McKinney School of Law.

Mawhorr will replace Judge Linda Ralu Wolf.  She’s resigning August 31 after 36 years leading courts in Muncie and Delaware County.

Circuit court judges are elected, so Mawhorr will eventually be on a local ballot to keep his seat on the bench.

The governor’s office says Mawhorr will be sworn in at some later date.
