College Football Roundup: Ball State, Purdue, and Notre Dame lose at home; IU takes four overtimes to beat Akron
Ball State was blown out at home Saturday by Georgia Southern 40 to 3. The Cards had no answers for the Eagles who dominated both sides of the ball and dictated the pace of the game with speedy play. Ball State avoided a shutout with a field goal at 6:27 left in the fourth quarter. The last home shutout was in 2011. Next up, Mid-American Conference play begins on the road against Western Michigan at 3:30 p.m. next Saturday.
Elsewhere, #9 Notre Dame lost to #6 Ohio State 17 to 14. Purdue lost for the third time this season at home, this time to Big Ten rival Wisconsin 38 to 17. And the MAC’s Akron Zips took Indiana to four overtimes before losing to the Hoosiers in Bloomington, 29 to 27.
