Ball State University gives interim provost the permanent job
Ball State University is elevating its interim provost to the permanent position as the chief academic officer of the Muncie school.
Anand Marri came to Ball State in 2020 as Dean of Teachers College. In a statement announcing his promotion, university officials tout that college’s increases in both enrollment and external research funding.
Marri was named interim provost as previous provost Susana Rivera-Mills left Ball State in March to take the presidency of Aurora University in Illinois.
The search for a new provost was national and Marri was one of several finalists. In a statement, Ball State president Geoff Mearns says Marri “is both personally and professionally committed to the success of all of our students.”
Previously, Marri taught at Columbia University and worked in outreach and education at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
