Mike Neu will remain as Ball State’s head football coach.  The Cards finished the season with a 4-and-8 record.

Neu was a quarterback for Ball State in the early 90s.  After coaching stints in arena football and the NFL, Neu became the Cardinals’ head coach in 2016.  Neu has had one winning season out of eight with Ball State – the pandemic-shortened 2020 season that saw the Cards go 7-and-1 as Mid-American Conference Champions, and win the Arizona Bowl over San Jose State, the first bowl win for the school.

Neu has compiled a 37-and-56 overall record with Ball State, and a 23-and-39 tally in the MAC.  According to USA Today, Neu made $680,000 total pay in 2023 – ranking 107th in college head-coaching compensation.
