Ball State Sports Roundup: Basketball and Men’s Volleyball

Ball State’s men’s basketball Cardinals lost their first Mid-American Conference (MAC) game of the season at Kent State last night, 82 to 69.  The Cards were down 11 at the half and could not overcome the Golden Flashes’ inside play and bench points.   Ball State’s bench was outscored 42 to 11.  The Cardinals are 8-and-5 on the season, and 0-and-1 in the MAC.  Next up:  A home game with Central Michigan this Saturday.  Tipoff in Worthen Arena is set for 2 p.m.

The Ball State women’s basketball Cardinals begin MAC play tonight at Western Michigan.  Tipoff in Kalamazoo is at 7 p.m.  The Cards have a season record of 10-and-2.

In men’s college volleyball last night, Ball State swept Wabash College 3-to-0. The set scores were 25-9, 25-9, 25-11.  The Cards and Wabash have a rematch this morning at 11 in Worthen Arena, and a second match today at 2 p.m. with Thomas More University.
