Governor appoints new Ball State University trustee
Governor Mike Braun has appointed a former Indiana state representative to the Ball State Board of Trustees.
Dollyne Sherman was appointed to the legislature to replace a retiring lawmaker in June 2019. She ran for the Indianapolis District 93 seat in the 2020 election, but lost.
Before that, Sherman served on the gubernatorial staffs of Bob Orr and Mitch Daniels, worked for Representative Susan Brooks and Indianapolis Mayor Steve Goldsmith, and had a deputy commissioner role at the state Bureau of Motor Vehicles. More recently, Braun named her to a committee that helped him appoint new members to the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission.
Sherman studied political science and business administration at Ball State University, graduating in 1977.
Sherman replaces Renae Conley on the nine-member board, who retired in December. Sherman’s term runs through the end of 2029.
Braun also reappointed trustees Mike McDaniel and Julie Griffith to terms that also end in 2029.
