A ceremonial spatula from 19th-century Papua New Guinea, crafted from turtle shell and adorned with shell currency, reflects the Massim Peoples’ artistry and oceanic traditions. Used in betel nut preparation and widow remarriage rites, it symbolizes both cultural heritage and spiritual wealth.
