Ball State University has reappointed a board member to the Muncie Community Schools board, as part of its partnership to help run the public school district.

Local attorney Mark Ervin was appointed with the rest of the board members in 2018, at the beginning of the state legislature-approved agreement.  He’s served continuously and had been reappointed for another four years.

Ball State president Geoffrey Mearns praised Ervin’s “calm, thoughtful demeanor” on the school board.

All seven members of the MCS board were first appointed in 2018 and have been renewed when their terms were up.  The partnership was not given an end date by state lawmakers.
