BlueNotes is IPR’s monthly jazz program produced exclusively for Indiana Public Radio listeners. Each program features a blend of classic and contemporary jazz spanning the spectrum of jazz types and formats. Historical recordings are often included.
In addition, BlueNotes covers jazz venues in central Indiana with news of upcoming jazz shows and concerts. Interviews with local jazz musicians are also featured.
The September 2016 BlueNotes "Indiana Bicentennial Salute to Hoosier Jazz" program received a Bicentennial Legacy Project Endorsement from the Indiana Bicentennial Commission for its contributions to the celebration of Indiana history and commemoration of Indiana’s 200th birthday.
