Muncie mayor to return to duties after cancer surgery
Muncie Mayor Dan Ridenour is set to return to office and resume mayoral duties July 15, following an extended leave of absence after receiving a cancer diagnosis in early May.
According to court records from Delaware Circuit Court No. 1, a motion was filed July 13 to terminate the designation of Acting Mayor Jeff Howe, whom Ridenour appointed to run the city in his absence.
“Effective July 15, 2026, Dan Ridenour shall resume all powers, duties, functions, and authority of the Office of Mayor of the City of Muncie, Indiana,” the order reads.
