Building Better Neighborhoods
Building Better Neighborhoods is a partnership between Ball State University’s Building Better Communities office and the Muncie Action Plan. Funded by the Ball Brothers Foundation, the endeavor seeks to grow, coordinate, and streamline Muncie neighborhood organizations.
Key leaders in the Muncie community have expressed a need for assistance to develop neighborhood associations through partnerships, training, and support of members of the Muncie community. The Building Better Neighborhoods Coordinator serves as a resource to the Muncie community and develops processes to streamline the Ball State resources needed to foster strong neighborhood associations, which represent the critical infrastructure for pursuing and addressing additional projects of the Muncie Action Plan, VISION 2016, and related projects well into the future. The university is working toward directing its local outreach and engagement to align directly with the Muncie Action Plan and VISION 2016. Although there are many existing partnerships between Ball State and the Muncie community, there is a need to identify a comprehensive list of the resources available at the university and to coordinate efforts for maximum impact.
