Sidewalk improvements and repairs along State Road 32 in Muncie will soon mean construction work and lane restrictions for more than a year, beginning in two weeks.

On Wednesday, the Indiana Department of Transportation announced it will restrict State Road 32 to one lane in both directions between South Perdieu Road and US 35.  This includes the portions that run through downtown Muncie and to both the east and west.

INDOT says restrictions begin September 25 and will last through mid-November of 2024, depending on weather.  The work includes ADA ramps, sidewalk reconstruction, and asphalt paving.
