The August 2026 floods of the White River and other tributaries were some of the worst ever seen in eastern Indiana, including Muncie.  Historian Chris Flook, a professor with Ball State University’s Department of Media, compared the 2026 Muncie-area flood with those that have hit the city since the late 1800s.  As you will hear, Flook says the floods and rebuilding after each flood, changed not just the shape of Muncie, but the White River itself.
