Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb has re-appointed two trustees to Ball State University’s governing board. Board chair Rick Hall of Carmel and member Wayne Estopinal of Jeffersonville will continue to serve through the year 2022.

Hall has served on the board since 2007, and has been chair since 2014. Since he’s headed the state university’s board, the school made headlines for the hiring and then quick resignation of Paul Ferguson before the hiring of its current president, Geoffrey Mearns.

Mearns has said Hall was the man with the idea for the plan for Ball State to oversee Muncie Community Schools.

Hall has also been criticized by student-organized groups for allowing Ball State to accept money from the Charles Koch Foundation and alumnus and Papa John’s Pizza founder John Schnatter.

Estopinal has served since 2011.
